Crimson Rose (Pachliopta hector)

These insects are remarkable for their striking colours and beautiful patterns on their wings. This butterfly is more active at dawn and just before dusk. Though they visit flowers, they are fonder of over ripe fruits, tree sap and toddy. Sometimes, a good number of them can be seen around tapped palm trees.

Graphium agamemnon (Tailed Jay, Green Spotted Triangle)

A large tropical butterfly with a wingspan of 7-8 cm. What a spectacular looking butterfly! Apple green spots and bands of variable sizes beautifully contrast against its predominantly black upperside and fashioned in fabulous symmetry! Typical of the Swallowtail butterflies, its hindwings end with a short tail which is longer in the
female species. Absolutely gorgeous!

Pale Grass Blue butterfly

This is the smallest butterfly found in India, Malaysia and Singapore. The average wingspan of the species is about 8-11 mm.
The upperside of the male is light blue whilst the female is dark brown. The butterfly has a weak fluttering flight and can usually be found on sunny days at flowering plants. The species loves Lantana blooms and stays around the flowers all day long. The food plant of the species is Mimosa pudica (Touch-Me-Not) weed. Due to its small size, the butterfly is often overlooked by collectors.

Common Sailor Butterfly

These Butterfly are remarkable for their striking colours and beautiful patterns on their wings. The upper side of Common Sailor is black with white markings. The fore wings have white streaks, and a series of spots. The hind wing is with a basal broad white band and an outer series of square shaped white spots. The wingspan is 50-60mm. Often seen basking in the sun, Common Sailors are quite bold butterflies and can be approached very near.
